October Effies

Goooood morning, and happy October!

We hope you've all loved your Effie Boxes this month...we love this project so much, and thought we'd try and share how easy and fun they are to make. You can buy the kits for £15 in high street shops...but why would you spend that much?!

As for your origami masterpieces, try this one for size! (look at it's little wings! D'awwwwwwwh.)

We hope you're all getting your craft heads on for Hallowe'en this year...let us know what you're going as!

Meet Effie, Part Two!

Continuing on from Ellie's post, yesterday, this is part two in the series where you get to meet the Effie Box girls - which means I (Fran) get to write about myself in an informative, but hopefully endearing, way...!

Hey, hello, hi there, howdy, I'm Francesca, and I'm the resident cat lady here at Effie Box! I'm a London girl, born and bred, and when I'm not heaping glitter by the spoonful into Effie Boxes everywhere, I'm a lingerie fitter/amateur blogger . I also got a fancy degree from UKC (rhyming > everything) in psychology, so I can probably read your mind✌️. I have the most eclectic (read: weird) taste in music you're probably likely to ever encounter - Taylor Swift, Nirvana, The Vaccines, and Joy Division are all on my 'most played' list - and am likely to have my head in a book for at least three hours a day . I overuse emojis, can't swim , and spend all of my money on travelling, when I can ✨, but my ultimate goal in life is to move to New York and become a writer, although getting to own Effie Box with one of my best friends isn't too shabby, either💕

Tonnes of love, Francesca, 23, @francescasoph xx

Meet the Maker! Part I

We thought it'd be nice to give you guys some information about both of us, so each day this weekend we'll be doing a little "Meet the Maker" session. First up is me, Ellie - head over to instagram to check out the original post! ❤️

IYA! When I'm not trying to make an El-sized mark in London, I live near Hull. I have peach hair 🍑, 6 tattoos, and I'm studying for a philosophy BA which I aaaaaabsolutely detest. I wore a bow in my hair every day through Year 12 & 13 to cheer people up (Mrs Singleton I'm looking at you). Alongside my cliché white girl habits like taking photos of sunsets, obsessively baking, and rewatching Friends, my favourite thing to do is buy presents for people. My most played song on iTunes is Do They Know It's Christmas? which is played from October onwards, and when I was 14 I started laying serious groundwork to go to UC Berkeley, because that's where Troy Bolton goes in HSM3. No joke.

Love Ellie, 19 😘

September: big starts and big hearts

There shall be no wake me up when September ends puns here, ladies and gents (sorry Billy Joe), because September's project is raaaaad.  Can we pull that word off? Probably not, no.

We've completely updated our boxes - they're now sleeker, sparklier, and slighter (ssssssssss), and we're thrilled with the result. But we shall not rest on our laurels there - we have such big plans for this month it's unreal. (Insert a-ok emoji here) Looking ahead to the rest of the year, we've got so much in the pipeline - so why don't you come on over, Valerieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee?

For all you September subscribers out there, you'll also be looking for this, I presume...

Stay foxy, kids. x

...how cryptic, how mysterious. Where's the crystal ball emoji on a Mac...?

Effie Box, We Are Go!

Disclaimer: Fran might've stolen that line from Thunderbirds. But let's face it, Effie Box is a little bit cooler, so they wouldn't have minded.

Effie Box has officially landed. Take us to your leader.
...or, you know, subscribe. If you want to. Which clearly you do, otherwise why would you have stuck around for all the bad TV/Movie references? Got you there, haven't we?

For a mere £8 per month, you can now officially become an Effie subscriber, and your postbox will become that much cooler. Subscriptions are through PayPal, and you can sign up here; they're commitment-free, and you can cancel at any time (although, we're warning you, this crafting bug can be addictive). If you don't fancy subscribing, you can also bulk-buy a couple of months' worth of boxes - 3, 6, or 12 month supplies all come with varying degrees of discount, so you're saving a little hard-earned cash, too. Win/win.

Feeling like it's all too good to be true? We get that a lot. But the only other thing you'll need to enjoy your Effie subscription is a little patience: subscribe or bulk-buy by the end of any given month, and you'll have your Effie Box with you on the first week of the following month. So, if you order this month's box (which we've already established, you probably will, it's awesome), you'll be receiving it by the first week of August.
